IKEv2 on macOS

Why use IKEv2?

IKEv2 is a secure, fast VPN protocol that’s built right into macOS. No config files and no extra software needed.

This guide will walk you through setting up IKEv2 VPN on your Mac using the built-in VPN client.

Before You Start

Log in at vpnbaron.com and open the Servers page. You’ll need two things from it:

  • Your VPN credentials: the card at the top shows your VPN Username and Password, with copy and reveal buttons. These are separate from your website login.
  • A server address: open the IKEv2 tab on the same page and pick a server.

Setup Guide

  1. Open Network Settings Open System Preferences > Network. If you’re on macOS Big Sur or later, go to System Settings > Network.
