VLESS Reality Protocol

VLESS Reality is VPNBaron’s maximum-stealth protocol, from the modern Xray family. Its trick: the connection presents the genuine TLS handshake of a real, well-known website. To any firewall doing SNI inspection, TLS fingerprinting or active probing, your session is an ordinary HTTPS visit. There is nothing VPN-shaped to detect, so there is nothing to block without breaking the normal web.

It runs over TCP 443

The same port and transport as every HTTPS website. This matters on networks that block unfamiliar UDP wholesale: where Hysteria2 can’t pass, VLESS Reality still connects.

When to use it

• Networks that actively block VPNs: hotels, campuses, offices, airports
• Countries with deep packet inspection (the same protocol family that works through the Great Firewall)
• Any network where our other protocols fail to connect

If you’re on a normal, open network, you don’t need to think about this: speed-wise IKEv2 and Hysteria2 are usually the better picks, and the app makes that call for you.

How to use it with VPNBaron

In the native app (recommended): nothing to configure. Baron Pathfinder tests routes automatically and falls back to VLESS Reality when the network fights back. Install guides: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android.

In a third-party client: your Stealth subscription includes a VLESS Reality entry for every location. Import it with our guides for V2Box (iOS, macOS & Android) or Hiddify (Windows) and pick any entry labelled VLESS.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

A VLESS entry won’t connect?

• Refresh the subscription in your client to pull the current server list.
• Try the VLESS entry of a different location.
• In the app, just reconnect: Pathfinder retries routes for you.

Connects but feels slower than expected?

• Stealth camouflage costs a little overhead. On friendly networks, try the Hysteria2 entry of the same location, it’s usually faster.
