IKEv2 on iOS

IKEv2 is an excellent choice for iOS devices, offering fast speeds and automatic reconnection when switching networks.

Built-in iOS Support

iOS has native IKEv2 support built into the system - no additional apps required! This means you can set up IKEv2 VPN directly through iOS Settings with complete integration into the operating system.

Before You Start

Log in at vpnbaron.com and open the Servers page. You’ll need two things from it:

  • Your VPN credentials: the card at the top shows your VPN Username and Password, with copy and reveal buttons. These are separate from your website login.
  • A server address: open the IKEv2 tab on the same page and pick a server.

iOS Setup Guide

  1. Access VPN Settings Go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management > VPN > Add VPN Configuration.

  2. Configure VPN Settings Enter the following details:

    • Type: IKEv2
    • Server: (a server address from the IKEv2 tab of the Servers page)
    • Remote ID: (the same server address, exactly as entered above)
    • User Authentication: Username
    • Username: (your VPN username from the Servers page)
    • Password: (your VPN password from the Servers page)

  3. Complete Setup Tap Done to save the configuration.

  4. Connect to VPN Select the newly created VPN configuration and toggle the VPN switch to connect.
